Dream Deferred
Largely I’m a self-taught artist who has been exploring art-making throughout my life. I have a background is figurative drawing, printmaking, watercolor, ceramic sculpting and collage.
My recent move to New Mexico fulfills a dream deferred; to work full-time on my art. A trained graphic designer professional, I brings a wealth of visual acuity to my work. Painting now mostly in oil and acrylic, my recent fascination is mainly landscape and the surrounding mountain desert. My approach can be loose, expressive, abstract as well as refined, representational and controlled. Always experimenting with a range of possibilities and limitations and finding the most effective way to handle the medium for the given subject.
This past Spring I took a Monotype printing course at UNM Taos and discovered how my drawing and painting skills can be applied to mono-print images.
My ultimate aim is to create expressive, evocative images that touches the heart/mind of the viewer.
